What is the The HardieZone System?

James Hardie has unveiled siding that is specifically designed for the different climate zones in the United States. They're calling this new product The HardieZone System. James Hardie designed their system around eight different types of climate variables that affect long-term siding performance. Climate zones 1 thru 5 in the United States will be using HZ5 siding while zones 6 thru 10 will use HZ10. The different HZ products can't be mixed on the jobsite. Reese Wholesale will only be carrying HZ5 product..

NEW Nail Line, Drip Edge & Sloped Edge

James Hardie made three major changes to their HardiePlank HZ5 fiber cement. When you pick up a piece of HZ5 you will notice a few things different from the HardiePlank you're use to installing. First, there is a nail line to help gauge where nails should be driven into the HardiePlank. Second, they added a sloped edge at the top of the board and a drip edge at the bottom. These additions are signification in a couple of ways. A printed nail line means you can't "flip" the fiber cement piece over because doing so would make the nail line visible. Also, you can't just grab boards off the pallet. You need to slide them off. The new drip and sloped edges interlock every piece to eachother when they are placed onto the pallet. You have to slide the pieces first and than lift them off the pallet (see the pic on the left or the Hardie fiber cement wrapper for a drawing of the proper way to remove a piece). The HardiePlank HZ5 will replace the primed and ColorPlus siding you're currently using from Reese Wholesale. You can't mix HardiePlank and HardiePlank HZ5 on the same jobsite.

The key to a successful HardiePlank install...KEEP IT CLEAN!

In an effort to keep your James Hardie product as clean and chip-free as possible we're handling it with extra, special care. All of our James Hardie pallets come wrapped in plastic. We're also suppling you with extra plastic shrouds that you can use on your jobsite. These shrouds will help keep your HardiePlank clean, dry, well protected and mud-free.
